Key lock cylinders

So I ran into an additional issue yesterday while working on the new to me 2002 SR5. I had the battery disconnected while pulling the dash panel out and I needed to get into the rear hatch area. So I grabbed my keys and tried opening it with the key and no joy? So I grabbed the other key I got from the previous owner and again no joy? I tried contacting him this morning but he is pretty clueless or just not willing to tell me what is going on?

So what are my options for fixing this lock cylinder issue? Can I replace the cylinder and get it keyed the same as the ignition key?

Did you try again after connecting battery? Needs it for everything except driver door - its mechanical on first turn to left then electrical for all other doors.

Put a tiny bit of dry graphite in it and use the key might work. Get set of new key cut with the vin number from the dealer

I have the same thing but it is intermittent... think it might just be the key worn down. Does it work when the battery is connected?
