broken rear sway bar

my wife noticed today something hanging from the rear of the truck today. after further inspection found that the rear sway bar broke, well more likely rusted out. So another job to do. Any suggestion on what brand to go with? Not really want to spend alot of money.

if money is tight try rockauto or a scrap yard (or one of the guys on here that have removed them alltogether for more serious offroading) for an OEM equivalent replacement.
If money isn't an option, go with addco and get some prothane or energy suspesion poly bushings while you're at it.

sucks man. good luck. Or just don't replace it at all... there's a lot of people that remove them and don't use them at all. If the wife doesn't notice it's gone after you remove it, why replace it?...

True enough, I'm not going to replace it right away, not until the weather warms up a bit. It been pretty damn cold hear -30 Celsius at night, and around -20 to -24 Celsius during the day. Maybe this cold weather and the rust snapped it. I'll probably call a wrecker tommorrow and see what they got. I have to say here there probably isn't going to be much for used, probably have to sources it from some other province. Thanks for your reply.

I'll sell you the rear sway bar off one of my 4runners for $50 plus shipping. Then I'll go buy an addco...
 
Ripped out the sway bar today. As I suspected it had rusted underneath the bushing. Oh well. I think I am going to buy the addco sway bar. I called my local wrecker, they wanted 100 bucks. Then I called toyota, they wanted 325 bucks. I laughed at the parts guy and I told I guess I am going after market. Does any one know if the addco rear sway bar kit come with endlinks as well? Thanks guys.
 
The rear addco does not come with endlinks, but new bushings for them. I have my old oem rear sway if you want it. However I would highly recommend the addco. Also i would get the front upgraded at the same time. Any pics of the carnage.
 
Here are some pics. I was pretty shocked in how thin the bar is. I got pretty mad trying to get the bar out that I cut the rest of the bar out. I hope it's easier to get the bar back in.

addco purchased

Just purchased the addco bar from summit. Seemed to be a good price 160 bucks. Andy's a few more bucks. I'll check the front sway bar for condition, and if its ok I'll order bushing and links. I need to order links for the back any ways. Cheers everyone
