Sway bar end link. They are around $20 each. Yes, you can install it yourself. Get you some PB Blaster and spray it down before you try to remove it. From the looks of the surface rust, you will need it.

Just replace the other one anyways. It's probably not in much better condition.

Agreed, they usually come in pairs anyway. I've had good luck with the Deeza brand sway bar end links that RockAuto sells. They're pretty heavy duty and even have Zerk fittings in them.

I just did all four of my end links this past weekend and mine lookekd better than yours. I was originally just putting in poly bushings but once I disconnected the end links I found the rod (inside the rubber bushings) were mostly wasted away. From the looks of your especially if that is the back I would replace all 4 and put some poly bushings in.

Yes there are torque specs for both the upper 12mm nut I think it is 16in lbs and the bottom 14mm nut is 47ft lbs. You better look them up since I don't have my books with me.
Also you need a second wrench on the inside of the flange when tightening the lower nut other wise it just turns, its not a nut on the inside its more like a washer with flat sides to keep the joint from rotating while you are tightening the nut.

Good move! While you're under there, it wouldn't hurt to grab a grinder and a box of flap disks to clean up the frame. Knock some of the rust off it and coat it with something. (I used oil based rustoleum on mine) Others will suggest POR-15 but it's expensive. Anything is better than nothing.
What did you snap back in? The joint?
Is the piece that comes off the frame still in one piece? Or is that what you 'snapped' the top of the link back into?
If the tab on the frame is broken you'll need to replace or fix that before installing new end links.
My front ones looked fine until I removed them. This corrosion was hiding beneath the bushings.

I'm thinking his joint where it attaches to the sway bar was worn so badly that it just separated. Then he was able to push the ball part of the joint back into the socket.

I went back and zoomed in on the picture. I see what you are talking about now. It looks like the big washer on top corroded to the point where it broke off when you got it in a bind and it slipped out of the hole.
