Broken Valve Cover bolt!!

Yes, I made the same stupid mistake that others have when working with the valve cover.

I was trying to see if any of the bolts were loss since it had been leaking oil. I should have just left it for now since the thing has been leaking for over a year with no noticeable amount of oil missing at each oil change.

Any way, I've got a valve cover gasket and some bolts being delivered to the dealer Wednesday, and I plan to replace the gasket and any broken bolts next weekend.

My question is will this be safe to drive with one bolt broken?!?

Cool, things seem to be fine so far.

Next questions.
It is the passenger side that has the leak, but should I just replace the gaskets on both sides since I'll have things taken apart? (I've got 101K on this Yota.)

And

Is there anything else I should take care of when I have it open? Any other prevent maintenance steps or things to replace/clean?

I would replace the spark plugs while you have it apart and also clean the throttle body and MAF sensor. I've also heard of others replacing the air intake gasket since you gotta take the air box off to get to the valve cover.

I recently changed the spark plugs on my 04 V6 133k and noticed a little bit of oil on some of the spark plug valves which is indicative of a leaking valve cover gasket. I see myself having to replace it in the future. Only thing that concerns me is getting some of the valve cover bolts off since some are a little rusty. Let me know how it goes.
