Brush guard recomendation?

I just finished installing one of those today. It fit my 2002 very nicely but I would suggest getting some better hardware before you even begin the installation. The bolts are painted black which came off the second they were tightened down, one of the bolts just sheared off when it was being tightened, and the washers bent when tightened. Otherwise it seems to be decent for its price.

Why do they suck so much, and i dont feel like spending 400+ for one, so either 200 new or one nice used for around 200 but id been having trouble finding one used

any little 50 dollar fender bender turns in to thousands ive seen pics where its rubbed the paint right off the fenders

Why do we call them damage multipliers? If you bump into someone directly in the front and center and IF it doesn't shift then it should protect the rig from damage. If it shifts it could be pushed into the hood and lights. Now if you bump something off center or just the headlight guard/wings, they will probably and usually push back into the fenders and lights "multiplying" the damage. What might have been a small scratch or ding becomes bigger damage.

Also since they mount low they will reduce your approach angle.

Haha.. I've seen pics where they've rubbed the fenders off the fenders.

Save your money and buy a real bumper. Other than that invest it somewhere else on your rig as these just aren't worth anything. $.02
