So i am a former 2nd gen tacoma owner......

she was an 09 off road and i built her up sweet

then she was totaled.....

and now i just picked up a 2003 4runner v8 limited

first thing i did was put my snowboard racks on the factory roof rack



i then hard wired my gps unit.....love this mod...easily removable...and no wires all over..

then i installed my ultragauge....

i then installed a rear hatch open button .so i could escape out the rear hatch if i chose to sleep in there....

i just ordered 2 new chip keys and a key fob.....

i just programmed them today.....wow that was surprisingly easy

so for $25 i got 2 chip keys and had them cut and a new key fob.....

even the window roll down works......woooot

next up will be to install my kings w/700lbs springs ext travel up front

and some icon overland coils and icon ext travel rear shocks.....

and some ready ride uca's....



i also just ordered some cvj axles to replace my stock ones that are leaking ...



next up will be a massive order to rock auto for some inner and outer tre's, new bushings for lca's, idler pulleys, tension-er pulleys, drive belt, spark plugs, front diff oil seals, wheel seals, cabin filter, air filter, ect....



i also just picked up the parts from toyo for the rear diff breather mod....

i will be welding on a rear diff skid plate in the future "when it gets warmer out"



next up will be to install my new pioneer radio and a backup camera.....

this should be fun as it looks like a shit ton of wires

then comes sliders....i think i am going to build my own this go around.....

if i don't do that i'm leaning towards 4x sliders......



then skids, roof rack, bumpers"when i sell a kidney"



i am looking for ideas to mount my oba setup....ita a viar and has a 2-1/2 gal tank......i would also lov to install a retractable air hose

if anyone has any ideas please let me know........

Good plan. Did you get a check for the Tacoma being totaled? I just bought my 4Runner a few months ago and gotta pay it off before I can mod to much.

yes but not much as i still owed a bunch
but with this 4runner its paid in full......
so little by little i want to build it up like my taco was

You're going to love the stereo. I have the same head unit. Pair it with some Pioneer DM series comp sets and a decent sub and rock out.

so i just got back from snowboarding...30" Woot

anyway these were waiting for me on my step.....

Also picked up some new soldering equipment

Might try and get the radio in tomorrow.
And do the wiring for future switches .while i have everything opened
Its Just i don't know if i need the brake bypass for the pioneer radio
I don't want to have to pull it again and add it later
Already there is a million wires going on
I think my head is going to imploded reading the directions for all the modules needed = boom
So much for plug and play
Wow have things have changed....

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO STOP MY DOORS FROM LOCKING...ALL THE FING TIME
everytime i get out of the car to do something, i get to the door and locked....
errr its killing me........

Did you use the universal mighty mounts from yakima to mount your snowboard racks? As much snow as we've had, i havent gone one single time this year. I need to go.

these racks were what i had on my tacoma with yakama round cross bars...
i took them off the round bars and put them right on the factory 4runner cross bars.
it worked perfect.....
and upon googling mighty mounts
it appears my snowboard racks have something very simular
mind you my racks are 6-7 years old......

It sounds like you aren't wasting anytime. Those are some nice upgrades. Any idea what type/size tires you're going with? Also, did you opt for the upgraded inner boots on the CVJs? I'll be going with a set soon and am still deciding on whether it's actually worth the extra $80.

i will be going with some treadwright guard dog mt's in a 285-70-17

or if i can run 16's i am going to......and they will be 285-75-16's also in guard dogs.....

i will find out one day when the snow stops and i can dig out my 16's and try them on the runner

also i run kedge grip on these tires......



as for the inner boots...no i have not tried the upgraded boots.....

i have not had a problem with the boots rubbing through....

and cv's are cheap enough...

"well they used to be cheaper....but he "cvj" is having trouble getting the cores back so its like $85 core charge.....

but still not bad for around $150 after shipping charges per axle oem

I need to clean these up and get them ready for times to come

I am installing Kings on mine right now (shop is). They could not use the resi brackets because I ordered compression adjusters...not enough space I guess? They are making some custom ones.

That being said, I will have extra ones next week when I get the truck back.

Sounds like a plan. Once I figure out how much they cost....and if the shop is charging me for custom ones....I will shoot you a price.

If they are not charging me for the new ones I will just send them to you if you pay the shipping.

Have you run these tires before? I want to get the Guard dogs (same size), but I am not sure how I they are going to do on pack snow and ice. I decided that the wardens were a safer option, but I really want the Gaurd Dogs for the other 8 months of the year. You will wear faster but traction is great about 20% faster per there website
I have got 36k out of them before i swapped them out
They still had some life left but i choose to replace them
They are loud on the road and had some chaffing issues with the sidewall but that was just cosmetic issues
Love my guard dogs

Seems you need to be a rocket scientist to install one

well even the license plate holder kicked my ass today

dealer broke a rusted out bolt in there, so i decided to tackle that today

drilled it ...then tried an easy out...that was about to break so i decided to just drill it out and retap it....

did that then go to parts store to find bolt for it 7x1...pitch and they dont carry stainless in that size

so i had to get hex head bolts .... will find stainless somehere else



then installed the weathertechs...whoooo that was easy



then i replaced the cabin air filter

and new wiper blades.....



overall a shitty day.....

i really wanted to get the radio wrapped up today....
