BudBuilt bump out beefy sliders

No issues

Thanks for the pictures, did you have to take the gas tank off like shockworkz sliders? Looks like it from the pic but wanted to confirm with you.

Edit: NM your latest pictures explains it all!

Thanks for sharing!

I'm running out of angles to take these pictures.

LMAO! Pics are great and just what i was wanting to see

Just to be sure of what i am seeing- you have removed the lower rocker panels and not just trimmed them?

Budbuilts are looking perfect

If you look at my build thread you will see that I replaced all with Trail parts but a few guys have just removed and others have trimmed.

For those of you who have installed these, how much functionality can you actually get from them to help with getting in/out of the vehicle? I've got a 4 year old so I'm trying to see if this will help or not...thanks!

The bumpouts may help a bit for the back passengers, but my straight shrockworks only help with cleaning/waxing/maneuvering stuff on the roof.

My wife actually complains about the sliders because when she slides out of the truck she brushes them with the back side of her pant-leg and gets her pants possibly dirty. The SW sit nearly as high as the door sill; maybe 3~4 inches lower.

Okki

No help, none. They actually may make it more difficult. I think you should look into some running boards or actual steps.

Thanks for the quick responses, much appreciated. Hate the look and lost clearance of most running boards, guess I may need to go with something like the NFabs even though they don't provide any actual protection. Unless there are other options out there I'm not seeing in my search attempts?

I don't have these but they sound like what you're looking for: Slee - Toyota 4Runner Sliders

Hmm thank you for sharing, definitely an option but not sure I care for the look of those much either (and definitely don't care for the $1k price tag haha).

Is the issue with the Bud Builts the height, or the platform? Seems like the platform issue could be solved with the full tread plating but if they're still too high for anyone to use then I'm guessing the only benefit that has is when I'm getting stuff off the roof?

Not help. These are for protecting the vehicle from rocks, not a running board.

Sure they help. My kid has been using them since she was 6 but if that is their only purpose there are many much cheaper options.

I'm really considering the Bud Build sliders and just removing the rocker trim on my LE...

How durable is the powder coating on these? Do they get blasted with rock chips from the road? And has anybody ever got them powdercoated a color other than black?

Thanks
