Think I am going to do the VR10000 with synthetic when my SW bumper comes in (my guess is January)

I personally wouldn't put one on without adjustable front CO's. It's not the extra approx 100lbs+ of weight but WHERE your putting the extra weight.Adding weight forward of the front wheels affects the suspension much more.Sort of like a fulcrum or lever affect!
I take the top plastic cover loose on one side to get to the clutch . The one with the plastic push/pull plastic rivets. Or you can reach it from up underneath.
That hard line has flexible rubber hoses on each side so it has some play after you take the clamps loose. I took the 2 clamps loose and it runs parallel to the back side of my M8000 winch bar so I wrapped it with rubber tape and tie wrapped it to it.
Winches are not all the same size/layout of course as the first Smittybuilt I had was a little smaller and it fit with the oem clamps in place,but barely.You can see it in the pics on post #17 of this thread.

No attachment points, it sits behind your bumper cover.
You suspension requirements will be dictate by how much wight you have hanging over the front end. How much does the winch weigh? are you using wire rope or synthetic? Bigger or dual battery? Too many variables. I would take a stab at guessing, yes if you expect to be closer to stock height + ~1" after you add the extra weight. It will sag.
Thanks. I just put it all on the scale, just the winch without line and solenoid 43lbs, the winch plate with line, solenoid, fairlead and hook 35lbs. So it seems the total is under 80lbs. As for the battery I'll be getting 750CCA from Walmart. Not sure yet if I want/need dual battery. Eventually I would want to get an extra pair of lights, but no light bars.
I/m planning on getting bilsteins all around. Looking to get mild lift. If I would not have winch I would do 1.5" front and 1" springs on rear. Cos of extra 80lbs thinking 2" in front and 1" in the back will look good.

[MENTION=177375]doro89[/MENTION], I just installed a Zeon Platinum 10S and Budbuilt hidden mount plate on my 2013 trail and I was somewhat surprised at how little the front suspension compressed. I believe it was no more than a quarter inch. Winch and plate weighed right around 90 lbs. I am running stock springs installed on 5100s set one notch up.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I installed Wheeler's T1s the following weekend so I didn't get much time to evaluate the ride on stock springs with the additional weight out front.

got any pics? how was the install? any aux lights mounted on the BudBuilt?
also, i haven't seen a lot of feedback on the Zeon Platinum and was wondering if it lives up to the hype.

Here is a mine. I'm running Toytec's Adjustable Ulimate Coilovers with 5100s in the front
Neat. How did you mount the lights? What battery are you using? Is your control box for the winch in the engine bay or on top/side of the winch?

Budbuilt makes a mounting brackets that attach to the winch mount for lights. I'm running an Odyssey 34R Extreme Series Battery. Control box is mounted on the top side of the winch, but I also have warn's wireless remote that I attach for use days. This is control box is installed the same way as it looks in [MENTION=6163]phillyd2[/MENTION] pics above.

Instead of separate light mounting brackets, it comes with holes to mount the lights.
That's actually convenient. I was planning to install the winch tomorrow, but supposed to be snowing
Why did you remove the hook from the line, any advantages/disadvantages? And did you paint your fairlead black?

lol I mounted everything (plate, lights, Superwinch12.5 w/3/8" wire, 31m battery, already had sliders) at the same time before I had done the front suspension (it was still in the box), I will say in the stock config the sag was huge! like laughably huge.
I had cartoon truck for a day.

While I do have the remote it’s not the platinum edition so no fancy clutch. I would only consider it if I couldn’t get to the handle. But yeah, Warn has always treated me very well. I’ve completely destroyed an atv winch and they fixed without cost or even laughing at me.
As far as fitting it in, it does need some tender love and not so tender nudging. More details in the build thread.

Well yeah, not much snow but I don't have a garage.
Interesting read and idea, but I really don't like the way it looks in the front. Line with a hook under the bumper is nicer IMO.
