Buddies Tacoma is getting a frame

Right, but my point is those trucks are still on the road, your version of "rusted out" may be different than mine.

The tacomas that were recalled had frames that are unsafe and would literally break in 2 if they continued to be used. Having a control arm mount rust off after 15+ years of neglect is not the same thing as having a less than 10 year old frame break in two.

These vehicles aren't being neglected. People are reporting that their 5th gens are rusting after only one year in a few areas. Yes the Tacoma seems to be worse, and I've seen them broken in half. However that doesn't discount the fact that whatever rust proofing Toyota is applying on these frames is not the best.

And yeah I'd count a control arm coming off a vehicle at highway speed to be a safety hazard.

When does it come to 4th gen 4runners....

When they do the dash recall... LOL! (I WISH)
I bought my 4th Gen in the midwest knowing that there was some surface rust on the beads of the frame and other spots... But now that i've had it up on a lift, there seems to be more than i expected. About to get my angle grinder out, buy some rust POR-15 and spray some 3M underbody spray on it. Hope it works. The road salt they use in KS really can eat up a frame if not regularly washed.

this is my only point, the tacoma's are on a different level and that's why they have been recalled.
