This is my first post, but I have been visiting the site for years and wanted to thank everyone for all the info.
I am just needing some advice. I am needing some new tires for my truck I currently have the stock Dunlops and they are in bad shape. I have been looking at the mich. ltx m/s2 but having a hard time deciding which direction to go in as far as size. Currently looking at 265/65/17 and 265/70/17. I have xreas and would like to lift the truck eventually (2-3 in), but would like to wait until it wears out. (Had been hoping I would need to replace it before I had to get new tires.)
How long does Xreas normally last? I did crawl under the truck tonight hoping to see some signs of leaking but everything looked like it was in good shape. Does it start to perform worse over time? It seems like it rides ok to me, but not sure if I am just use to it. From the threads I have looked at there have been some people with a lot of miles on it. I have a 2005 with 101,000 miles on it.
If I did go with 265/70/17 and did not do a lift right now, will the M/S2 fit without any rubbing? ( I have done some searching, and it looked like some tires fit ok while others wouldn't without trimming.) I was hoping if I went this route and my xreas did wear out these tires would work and look ok with an OME or Toytec lift.
Or should I just stick with stock 265/65/17 and hope xreas lasts until they wear out?
Sorry for the long winded question(s), but would appreciate any advice or different options. My runner does spend most of its time on the road as I am a ways from any good trails, but I do enjoy going to the mountains and seeing the back country.
