Finished my Roll Bar install... ALMOST! Still need to make the plates for under the truck....

Anyone wanting to drill through carpet (everyone knows it will ruin your carpet, but if you take an iron to it first and burn \ melt it, it works perfect.

Due to damaged mounts on the roll bar, I had to make some new ones for the rear.

Finished on the inside! Next, Fire Extinguishers and mounts for some Flashlights.

Able to clean up the rear end with some carpet cleaner also. Will need to refit my cargo mat but I'm not that worried about it for right now.

Are you asking about my K&N Intake? It's not hard to do and it only took an hour maybe. You want it? I'll be getting a Snorkel soon and I'll sell you my kit when it's off.

I might if you still have it in a couple weeks. I actually don't have my runner yet. I'm finishing the sale on my '87 Supra and I'm deciding between 2 4runners.

One's a 2000 highlander edition with 205k that's asking for 9 grand. The other is a '99 sr5 with 140K that's asking for 9800. Both in pretty good condition both taken care of well. The interior is better on the '99 and has less miles but I still think he's asking too much.


But if you still have the filter by the time I pull the trigger and do a couple preventative maintenance things I'll take it off your hands for sure.

Guess I'm going with the '99 then lol. the '00 doesn't have the locker. plus the interior on the 99 only has a couple really small stains of what looks like paint and is otherwise perfect.

Ok so the guy with the 99 is AWOL and I haven't been able to find out if it has the locker or not. I did find a 96 with the same mileage as the 00 but this one includes the locker and is way cheaper.

FYI, that 96 is due for a timing belt service, so budget that in.

Worked on my Roll Bar Options a bit today. Two new 5lbs Amerex Bottles mounted on my Roll Bar.

Just two little brackets 3" long to use original mounting holes in the Roll Bar.

Those two cases are the Action Packer (recovery gear and such), and the other is medical supplies.

Yah I decided on the '00. That '96 wasn't in the best shape at all. I'm taking the '00 to a mechanic on Tuesday to give it a once over before I pull the trigger but it looks to be in good condition. Brakes are starting to warp but I wanted to do the Tundra brakes anyway. New drums and Andel seals just got done. All fluids just got changed. New stereo.


Only thing I'm kind of worried about is that the transfer case is seeping fluid so I think the gasket has a hairline crack. It's seeping so slow that it didn't even drip just was a little wet to the touch so I think I can get away with ignoring it for a little while but I'll ask the mechanic about it Tuesday.

Added Wheel Spacers

Installed Wheel Spacers today! As much as I love my narrow tires, sometimes I feel a bit inferior to the rest of you. I saw these posted on here and had some pretty good reviews.

They arrived pretty quick and packed very well.

Mounted on the Rear. I didn't get a pic of the front, but our studs are 1/4" shorter on the front. They look pretty short with the spacers mounted, but I counted the threads as I screwed it on and I hit 5 or 6 just with my fingers. Then hit it with the air gun, and then the torque wrench. Should be fine, but I think I would like to upgrade to longer studs in the future.

After a quick drive, I feel it's a lot more stable as I take sharp corners (like pulling out onto a highway). Along with that, it drives better down the highway (due to the ruts in the roads) I think. Not positive on that, just yet.

Got my Snorkel installed. I can't believe how solid this is once it's all bolted up. I was always worried about that gap between it and the fender in all the pics. But in person, it really isn't that bad. Hardly notice it.

Used 8AWG Bare Copper to correct the vacuum. So far, so good. Maybe I used more then what was needed, but no harm done.
Need some major buff work on the paint. I was out exploring last weekend and found an old road that was really overgrown. Need to explore it farther!!!! Looks like a neat place.

This is how much the template is off.

Had to reinstall my Stock Intake. Used my K&N Tube for the ISR Mod. Have a real Toyota Air Filter coming from Amazon. It's only $18. I won't even ask how much it would be at the Dealership up here...

Getting to the last two posts are a PITA!!!! I used silicone to stick everything together so I could get it with just the tips of my fingers. After it was started then I could get a wrench on it.

I love watching my Intake Temps now. Much cooler, and it's good to see the temps drop the faster you go instead of go up with the old K&N FIPK. I did notice without the K&N it sounds different. I always liked the sound of the K&N, but that sound was like sticking a sock in your shorts before going out to the clubs..... Impressive, but doesn't add any improvements!

Overall I can't wait to get out camping again, or just road trips. Before I was worried about water crossings, but now I'm feeling pretty good about it. Plus I've seen a few people's heads spin around as I drive by.

Small project, I wanted to rework my Tranny Cooler. I've noticed that up in the mountains, my temps get a bit high. Looking how I had my cooler installed, once I mounted my winch it was blocking the bottom of the cooler. So it was time to update.

This was the original setup. Yes, the wiring is pretty messed up. That's from several small projects installed at different times. So it was time to clean that up some as well.

First, I had to remove the cooler, and then my horns. Here they are moved and rewired.

Test fit of the cooler and the fan.

It all fits! Yes, I do have extra hose which isn't needed. I wasn't able to get the hose clamps off from the tranny. I didn't have any pliers long enough to get back that far. I could do it if my truck was lifted up and maybe the tire and skid plate was off, but that wasn't going to happen tonight. When that happens, I will get rid of the old hose, and run this new hose all the way back to the tranny lines.

I will add another pic with the grill back on later... Some reason I forgot to take one with it all put back together.

What kind of fan is that (Brand/size)? Also, what size B&M transcooler is that? I'm thinking about getting a fan for off-roading and hot days.

It appears to be just like the Pro Comp 7" on Amazon, but I couldn't get it shipped to me so I found this one on eBay.

As for the B&M.... I was trying to find the model number again when it was out. No luck. It's the one most people get on this forum. It has the bypass built into it so it only opens when the fluid reaches 180* (at least it better have it, or I got the wrong one!!). Maybe someone can provide us with the correct model number for it....

Looking good, I've debating adding a fan or larger cooler to my transmission cooler as well. Hopefully you put red thread locker on those spacers to keep them from coming off! Just wanted to make sure, would hate for something to happen.

Haven't updated this for a bit, even though I've posted upgrades in other threads, so I'll consolidate into one post.

Reworked the senders and wiring. Have it cleaned up, but I don't like the temp readings on the gauge. I've got a plan to work on my frontend and when I do, I'll move the senders as close to the transmission as possible. That way the readings are more to what's in the transmission.

Inside I have the gauge mounted and I'm very impressed with it.

Yes, I have a cut up trim piece around the stereo, and there's a switch hanging out of it.... I know. But I have plans to make a bank of switches so right now I've put temp switches in (one for the gauge, and one for the fan over the cooler).

You can see I also have a new stereo in there... Wanted one for the GPS Navigation. That will free up my tablet for Torque Pro.

Can' wait till I get the switch bank designed and finished. Get all my switches in line and wiring all nice and clean.
