Good job man. I to tried to build my own. And I bought a $50 tarp from EBay. But it is much thicker then the one you used. I followed different directions from different forum. Using west marine parts and Coleman adjustable poles. Long story short. I ended up buying ARB awning lol.

If you want some cool cheap adjustable aluminum poles. Look at Walmart, and look at the golf section. They sell a adjustable pole up to 15ft. And it locks in by twisting the pile. Just like the Arb poles. Makes it easy to make it taught.
