Hey man, just read through this whole thread over a few days and wanted to say thanks for putting it all together in one place for us all!

I signed for a '17 Magnetic Grey TEP on Sunday and am (trying to be) patiently waiting for it to come off the boat. Seeing everything you've done to yours has given me a ton of ideas on what I want to to do mine.

I was eyeballing these earlier.. I love the red for maintaining night vision. I've got a fuse box in back powered by my second batt, this would be way too easy to do for me. Somebody stop me.. too many mods I wanna do haha!

I'll be making my way from San Jose down to (eventually) Solvang starting Friday. Any chance you are willing to share your Big Sur camp site location? Is that bad form to ask? Like fishing spots? Great pics!

His fairing is 38". Cross bars will be 50"+ I believe. Whatever suits your needs.

Awesome, man! Congratulations on the purchase. You'll be modding in no time. There will be things right off the bat that you'll start tailoring to your fit once you take delivery, so enjoy it! Feel free to throw any questions at me if you have them!

I posted in a different thread about it HERE. Basically it's a work in progress, there are some things I'd like to alter with it, and then figuring out the best way to manufacture it so that it doesn't cost a million dollars with my labor. I'll update as soon as possible.

[MENTION=141112]rocky.mtn[/MENTION] is right. 38" fairing, and I think that my crossbars are about 50". I honestly don't know though. Those have been transferred through a few of my trucks at this point, and will hopefully be retired soon! Let me know if you want me to verify measurements for you. Thanks!

Looking at 58" or 48" round cross bars from Yakima and I'm still waiting on my order for my 4Runner to get here so I can't do the measurements myself. Also, I know there's a tad bit room between the fairing and the raised rails, but do you think you could fit a 40" fairing between it or would it be too tight of a squeeze? Thanks for all the help man! Love your Runner. Reminds me of my DGM Forester currently with all the mods:biggrin2:

Obviously not who you were asking, but I got the 50" Yakima Corebars the first go round and they weren't wide enough for my taste (the fit, just didn't stick out past the factory rails as much as I wanted), so I returned them and got the 60". The 40" Yakima fairing fit but I trimmed it a little to keep it from rubbing on the factory rails' plastic end caps.

Ha! No problem. Most of Big Sir ended up being inaccessible anyway due to additional CA 1 closures. Stupid landslides. Funny though, I ended up at Ft. Hunter Liggett too. Parked at the Mission and got in a hell of a bike ride from there to the coast and back. PLENTY of climbing. Not to mention the incredible views!

Ha! No problem. Most of Big Sir ended up being inaccessible anyway due to additional CA 1 closures. Stupid landslides. Funny though, I ended up at Ft. Hunter Liggett too. Parked at the Mission and got in a hell of a bike ride from there to the coast and back. PLENTY of climbing. Not to mention the incredible views!

Yeah, no kidding. With the bridge being closed in Big Sur now, it will be divided for about a year!

That's quite the ride and an insane climb on a bike! The views are endless, and it looks like the weather held out for you!

OK! Got a tape on the 4R. Bars are 58", and the fairing is 38". No room for a 40" fairing. :thumb3:
