Built my own adj pan hard bar!!

But what if your driver side sits lower than the passenger side?? My axle is sticking out farther on the Passenger side due to this.......so I'm looking for the best alternative.

One thing to remember, I hardly wheel mine, and never beat on it like you guys do....he he he!

I think either an adjustable bar or a panhard drop are fine for the occasional light wheeler just to center the axle again. But if you wheel it a lot, you might run into problems with either method like I have.

Mine sticks out about an inch farther on the p/s too which hasn't bothered me, but at least my truck still sits level. You might want to add a $10 OME 10mm trim packer on top of the d/s rear coil to even it out.

In that case....I might just do the drop bracket....as I already have the bulk of the materials lying around my shop......

As for the top spacer....I'd rather avoid messing with the rear coils again...2X was enough for me.......lol

I don't believe either panhard method will do much to lift your d/s back up. Unfortunately, if you want to fix it, adding a trim packer is about the easiest and cheapest way to do it - unless you can just shift some of the weight around in your truck more to the p/s.
 
Really??? I figured it was the axle doing that......I don't have any weight in the truck....it's my daily driver....and I don't keep anything lying around in there...aside from a CD book, a snow brush, a set of Booster cables, and a tow strap.......
 
It's pretty common for the LC coils to sag on one side, I've seen a few people leaning with 8 and 9 wraps. And having both the gas tank and the driver on that side doesn't help. You can always install the PH drop and see what it does to help the lean, but I'm guessing it won't be too much if noticeable at all. I know the LC coils are usually pretty close to the same length (p/s compared to d/s). But I know my d/s OME 861 looked to be over .5" taller than the p/s and my truck sits pretty level.
 
how about a quick disconnect adjustable panhard bar? lol

hey Brian which mount folds in on it's self? is it the stock one or the weld on one? i was just getting ready to order my bracket when i started reading this, i'm wondering now if i should at all or if i should try and have my welder reinforce the mounts to the frame.....

The stock mount on the frame got pinched inwards. I was able to repair it, but it was a pain. If was to do it over again, I'd chop the end (bushing) of the stock ph bar off and just leave it up there in the mount so it can't get pinched. I would also suggest putting some bracing on the ph drop to help keep it from swinging or moving.

The ph drop definitely gave me more problems than just leaving it stock ever has. I could put the ph drop back on and reinforce it, but I think I'll probably just end up doing the F150 gas tank swap someday and then 4 linking the rear so I'll loose the ph altogether.

wait , what? what is this f150 tank swap you talk of like everyone knows it's a common thing? lol i'm willing to live with my rear axel being off center if i ca increase my range! go on.....

also regardless of that, what are we to do with the rear axle being off center, i can feel it in my it in my butt and i don't like feeling things in my butt...:zoom:

The reason we can't do a regular 4-link suspension in the rear is because the stock gas tank is in the way, preventing us from being able to triangulate the upper links (this would eliminate the panhard, but still keep the axle centered). If you move the gas tank to the stock spare tire location (which the F150 tank fits near perfectly), you'll have the room you need to triangulate the upper links. Here's a writeup of the tank swap..
