Without going full on armor front bumper are there options? I have read through threads with 'brush guards are for brush'. But is there a more heavy duty option, short of the full on heavy bumpers? Main thing is do help with a deer impact, or low speed impact with another vehicle. I have read that sometimes the brush guard style can actually create more damage, bending into sheet metal parts and such. Anyone do a custom guard that is beefier?

Have you looked at the different types of bumpers that are out there? I put an ARB bumper on my 97, after I lost the original one to a deer. I believe that it will do just fine, in the next encounter.

Anything other than a full bumper is more for cosmetic looks. If you hit a deer or vehicle with a bull bar or brush bar it will bend into the body and cause more damage. Thats why bull/brush guards nick name is "The Multiplier" Because it multiplies any body damage costs. LOL.
Go full bumper. You dont have to get a heavy duty plate bumper. There are some good looking tube style and hybrid bumpers out there. 4xinnovations, savage offroad, CBI, ect offer various options. Don't get a grill/brush guard. They will bend up in any collision over 5 mph and possibly damage more of your ride than anything.
