This looks amazing! Has anyone heard anything from BW? I posted on the FB site and hoping for a response on this. Im def one that wants to shed more fender weight but is a little hesitant on the look, etc after its all hacked up!
As a side note...From my research on BWs site, only the cut out fenders will allow you to trim up the fenders. The pocket style is just for looks.
This is just my understanding...

That's right, only the cut-out flares allow trimming, but most of the cut-out flares are also pocket style flares.

They said they would take note of our requests, it sounded like if they got enough they will work on it. So go send them an email and post on their facebook page asking for 4th gen flares.
The problem with the Taco flares is that the rear flare would have to be trimmed to open with the door, and the rear door flare on the 4runner holds some of the weatherstripping.

I'm going to head over to the local 4x4 shop and ask if they think they could make it happen. I have a feeling even if Bushwacker ever does make them, it wouldn't be for months. But it seemed like when this thread was going back in March you guys hit them up a solid amount and clearly nothing has been done. For looks purposes at least I think they are awesome.

I'd be interested in ones like they have for the FJ. More of an OEM look. Not big on all those visible bolts on the pocket style.

Those FJ Extend-a-Fender flares don't provide any extra clearance just coverage. I'm hoping they make some Cut-Out flares to provide extra clearance for bigger tires with less left.
IIRC they make both styles for the Cut-Outs, I like both and would be ok with either as long as they're not designed just for coverage. If I was worried about coverage I would've left the flaps on.

No, different fender shapes, different bumper/flare shapes and I would guess different mounting holes too.
That's one reason I think (or hope) they'll have to use the cut-out flares, so some modification is necessary.
if you are refferring to my plan......i plan on doing the entire swap.....flares, door cladding and front and rear bumpers when i do it...it will work but i am not afraid if i have to modify the fenders to make it work...this truck will be so much more than bolt ons...and looking at my moms 07 there doesnt appear to be any difference in the sheetmetal
