Bushwacker Fender Flares

I'd be interested in ones like they have for the FJ. More of an OEM look. Not big on all those visible bolts on the pocket style.
I'd like an option like this as well.
Would be nice if they made pocket style as well as a cleaner oem style.

Just completed the survey for the second time. Also voted on the Pocket Style, but depending on how much would have to be trimmed for the Cut-Out style, I'm not completely against it.

So... Has anyone heard anything about production, etc? Hoping Bushwacker eventually comes through and puts these into production.

I was wondering about this as well. My guess is that they got a ton of feedback initially, some multiple times from the same people, then when they put out the surveys there were less people (since people aren't filling out multiples as with the FB posts) and there isn't enough interest.
This thing has been about numbers for bushwhacker since the start, so if there were too few surveys I doubt it gets any further. Hoping I'm wrong, but that's my guess
I doubt these will come to fruition. I called them back in July to check the status. The guy I spoke with didn't even know they were doing a survey and indicated they don't plan on making anything fit the gen4 4Runner.. He may not have any idea what he was talking about, but not very reassuring that we will see anything any time soon.

Sorry, but I don't have anything new to report guys. Engineering has been clogged with the 2014 model year updates.
I'm not sure if we are being shined on or not at this point, we have been pushing hard and getting some feedback over the last 18 months. Fact is, hey would not put off a Ford or GM model for 11 years... So i am going to have to say, even though they have been communicating with us, I do not feel the 4Runner is something the see as viable.
I come from Oregon (went to OSU) and the mindset toward Toyota up there is either you LOVE em, to you hate all 'jap" vehicles... Not sure where Bushwhacker stands, but given they make flares for low production and seldom if ever off-roaded Ford, GM and dodge models but not a run of Toyota 4x4 that were produced for 7 model years make me wonder.
Now that the FJ has been discontinued the 5th gen will become a replacement for many would be FJ owners, lets hope BW sees this and gets moving on the 5th gen (already 5 model years in) and does not make us wait 10 plus years as they continue offering flares for things like the Expedition, Ranger, Tahoe, blazer, and Dakotas of the same vintage.
i did message them on FB last night and received a very familiar response..
"I wish I could give you an update Nathan, but the 2014 model updates have taken priority, which means engineering is at capacity creating flare styles for the Silverado, Sierra, and Tundra. We've recently added staff to product development, and the 4th Gen 4Runner is on the project list, but it hasn't become a priority yet. I'll be sure to keep pushing for updates, but can't promise anything as of yet.

it is a near exact response that I received via email 13 months ago. I think there are a few people there that would like to see 4th and 5th gen flairs made, but not the people who make the decisions.
On an positive not Eli at Iron Mann is working on both the 5th gen snorkel and fender flairs for several models of Toyota vehicle, both US and domestic. Him and I spoke briefly of it at SEMA this year just down the hall from Bushwhacker.

It baffles me why no one make abs/ plastic fender flares for the 4th and 5th gen 4runners. Completely mindboggling... would take 40 hours to design in a cad program. The real expense comes in the mold and tooling costs for a manufacturer. It's a huge up front expense that most companies aren't willing to explore for a new market (in this instance the 4runner market). If nothing else, the successful nature of this forum proves the passion and desire is present by 4runner owners to heavily modify our vehicles as much or more than models they currently offer them for.

Hey everyone,
Long story short, Bushwacker is a slow moving ship, and many of the 4G4R frustrations are felt on my end daily. To give you an idea of how slow the ship is, it took nearly three years for Bushwacker to release the Flat Flare for the JK. Not saying the 4G4R will take that long since we're making a lot of improvements to be more proactive, but many of the bad habits still remain.
I completely agree with all the reasons why Bushwacker should make flares for the 4th Gen, but Bushwacker's priorities remain in being first to market with the most current models.
All I can do is continue to act as the voice of the enthusiast, think of me like a state rep, i'll do what I can but sometimes it's an uphill battle. I appreciate everyone that took the 4Runner Survey, it's helped a lot.
I can assure you that the project isn't dead, it's just on the back burner.
