Buying a high mileage T4R

I bought a 2003 that had 150,000. I was told that it was a commuter vehicle from Colorado Springs to Denver, about 120 miles round trip.
I have gone through and replaced all fluids.

It is a great vehicle with no problems and should run another 100,000 miles.

I am not used to having a vehicle with this high of milage so I am a bit uncomfortable with it. Not that having high milage bothers me but that I did not do the maintance on the first 150,000 miles so I dont know what was or was not done. This makes me a little hesitant to do modifications to it. I will get over this and the 4Runner will last me another 5 years.

Ah okay, I'll run it through TIS tomorrow and see if its got a dealer rap sheet on it for you. :keyboard:

But pretty much inspect all the fluids you can, check the brand of the tires (they look to be pretty good condition, sometimes dealer's throw cheapo brand tires that wear out faster.), take a flashlight with you and try to check under the hood and maybe the brakes if you can see them through the wheels. It should have had at least one timing belt replaced (They do last easily into 150k from most people's experience and I have yet to hear of one physically snapping), preferably two to show its been on a good maintenance regiment. On the test drive I would feel for good shifts, do a couple decent brake checks to see if the vehicle nose dives a lot and seems to bounce a lil (indicating failing shocks.)

The tires are michelins so I feel pretty good about that. Someone mentioned a sticker on the engine that should have the mileage of when the timing belt was changed. I'll look for that too.
