Buying my lift compenents

So i am finally getting to buy the compenents to lift my 4runner. Here is what I plan on doing

Front:
Tundra Coils
Tundra Bilstein 5100's

Rear:
LC 8 Wraps
Bilstein 5100s OR LC Shocks

I am not sure what shocks to get for the rear. LC shocks are cheaper and most people seem to like them. Will those be suitable? And does everything else look solid? Also, links to buy these parts would be helpful, Im going to call Slee and try to get some 8 wraps

The factory LC shocks will perform well, I had them with 8 wraps for awhile. I bought my 8 wraps used from cruiserparts.net for $80 plus shipping and they are working out just fine.

Check out other forums like ih8mud.com. There's always a bunch of people selling front springs or parting out fj80s. I just got a pair of 7.5 wraps from there and I say about 5 other people are selling 8 wraps that asked me if I wanted them.

Yup. Also if you're using the LC shocks, go to a hardware store and get yourself (4) grade 8 washers, 1/4" or 5/8" i can't remember. The thread on the top of the LC shocks is a little short, so just stack 2 washers on each so you can get em tightened down.

I would research a little bit more on your lift. IMO your pretty close. I dont think you need the panhard drop with the adjustable bar. The drop is installed to try and correct the axle being off but really didnt work that well and thats coming from the guy who created it. He then made an adjustable panhard bar that eliminated the drop and actually would move the axle back center on the truck so if you have the bar you can skip the drop.

Then if you go with LC shocks and 8 wraps you want to lower your rear bump stops. Once you completely out flex that 8 wrap coil you will over compress the lc shock and blow the seals without lowering them and that can happen with just 7 wraps. Most people dont even know they done it, just the shocks wear out real fast and get soft. You can always purchase some competition bump stops from SonoranSteel but are a little pricey. Also some people will wrap wire around coil and the frame where it seats because the coil can actually fall out on the trail when you flex it out. Also with the 8 wrap plan on getting longer rear sway bar links, lift brackets or just removing it completely.

thanks for the good info!

Are there any other options for rear springs? I feel like OEM LC springs are a little pricey for what they are, and I dont really want to go with bilstein 5125

lift it!

I bought the Toytec 3" kit for $320 and the diff drop for $30. Spacers for the front and springs for the back. The stock shocks are supposed to be ok and my 2005 toy was a creampuff when I bought it. After I win powerball, I will go ALL OUT. I heard you can't go wrong with Bilstein shocks and that's what I would buy. I would call 4x4 shops and see what they recommend. I'm new on here but I believe you can get reviews from people on this forum...

Bilstein shocks are pretty great. Way better than the 9000s. You will not need anything for the panhard. No drop, no adjustable BS, nothing. Get one when you win Power Ball so that it can sit behind your axle and look pretty. Technically you don't even need the bottom bolt in all the way, ask Downpour!
