Buying someone else's complete/incomplete build?

Made an offer on the nor cal 3rd gen. Seller said he'd talk to his wife and get back to me. No word in 3 days.
[MENTION=109205]mwray8909[/MENTION] found a built LC fzj80 on CL and I tried to take a look at it, but seller insisted on only making truck available in South Central & Inglewood. Probably nothing, but decided to pass.

No, but there is an 80 series LC with factory triples lockers in the bay area. Body is rundown, but factory triple lockers appear to be pretty rare. If I can't find a 4R nearby, might have to fly up and take a look.

I love my 4Runner. I think you'd be making a wise decision going with a LC as a dedicated trail rig.

So I came across this peach earlier today. Talked to the owner and arranged to view Saturday morning.

He text me just now saying he's sold the truck for $6,500. I was willing to pay above $7,000 unless there were defects. Talk about leaving money on the table.

You were wise in my book not to check out the one in Inglewood. If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't right. My dad went to check out a Suzuki samurai out there in the hood. They were calling him every 5 minutes to make sure they were set up when he got there at an intersection with a gas station and when he got there no samurai and a couple hood rats pacing back and fourth. It didn't make sense to my dad until he noticed a police officer parked there with him. So my dad bailed. Thank god. To this day I don't think was going to turn out right

Yeah, the truck looked perfect, but it was odd he only wanted to meet in those areas and wouldn't consider meeting someplace else. Like I said, probably nothing, but my spidey senses were tingling.
