Looking for some input/advice from those folks who have bought tickets to a sporting event from a private seller via Craigslist.
I'm looking to go to a MNF game in two weeks. I ALWAYS have bought tickets from a reputable vendor like stubhub or ticketmaster.
I found a pair of tickets on Craigslist here in town where I live. I'm curious about the "safety" of buying tickets from a private seller vs. doing it online.
The pair of tickets I found are advertised on CL by a private seller. The picture of the tickets clearly looks like PSL tickets - (they say psl all over them) - aka season ticket holder re-selling them. they're perforated and look like any other authentic NFL ticket i've ever purchased.
I checked ticketmaster, and these exact same seats are listed on there via ticket exchange.
Ideally, I'd order them through ticketmaster ticket exchange - however if I met the guy locally and bought them off him in person, i'd save over $100 due to ticketmaster fees and the markup he has them listed at, and the cost of shipping them to me.
What kind of security measure do I have buying tickets in person vs from a trusted source? AKA, how do I know this guy isn't printing tickets and selling me the same ones he's selling online somewhere?
I can't be the only one who's bought tickets the old fashioned way before
