Problems solved!
Sooooo, I finally solved my torque steering problem AND my driving mattress!
I was about to give up, throw in the towel, ring the bell... I found this
article and although my bushings showed NO sign of wear, it solved any problem I was having with accelerating or letting my foot off the gas and the truck jerking to a corner.
While removing my drivers side LCA was a breeze (PB Blaster the night before on every nut I was touching the next day), the passenger side rear bolt and nut were problematic. Figured it was frozen on and wasn't coming off but didn't have the hacksaw or nut/bolt to replace them until Monday. I decided to drive to work and test out the newish springs and new bilstein struts.
HOLY SHIT! Handling felt worse and going over bumps was magnified. I don't think that I could have been more pissed off about buying used springs and spending money on struts, that made my runner's faults even worse! I did hold out a sliver of hope that the other LCA being installed was going to correct this big problem but heck, one LCA making this much of a difference?
Monday came, borrowed a hacksaw from a work buddy, bolt and nut came in at the Toyota shop down the street, Rodland Toyota. Always an easy experience asking for part numbers from the vin.
I grabbed the hack saw and cut the bolt in two places. Installed the passenger side LCA and waited till Tuesday morning commute to see if it worked. It did. There is no better feeling when you fix something on your vehicle that actually solves a problem you were having. On top of that, I also had the best mileage I've had just after completing this. 268 miles with the gas light on. Was averaging 210 before.
