Got mine delivered today. Super happy just from unboxing, powder coat looks great and quality is top notch. I'm heading out of town but once I'm back and can get it installed I'll post a pic. Thanks C4fab. Nice work.

We do have about 15 of them left over from our big pre order sale so yes they are in stock. We just need to get all of the pre sale orders shipped first before any new orders go out so if you order now it will ship next week sometime.

Quick review: Box and packaging were perfect. First impression of fit and finish, excellent. Quick and straight forward to put together, not a single issue and there were plenty of chances for something to not align, cross thread, etc but nope, perfect. Super easy to mount up on the truck, didn't actually take two people as instruction say. On to the pics... out with the old, in with the new. Will update as steps, rotopax and lights go on it.

yeah those aren't fun to deal with! Use a razor blade to cut through the foam as you peel the bracket off the hatch. Then use adhesive remover to eat through the remaining pieces of foam.

You will need to purchase your own hardware or paint ours if you want it to be black. All of our ladders are shipped with stainless hardware.

I got my erector set today. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

1. Its stout, as you can see in the 2nd/3rd pic, majority of the ladder is either 2 pieces of aluminum sandwiched together, or aluminum sandwiched with steel at the mounting brackets.

2. Nice little touches like the non-slip pads on the ladder rungs in the 3rd pic

3. No directions in the box, but it is available on their website and its pretty straightforward. Also, there is a short video on the install, that while isn't really used for the general installation, its there for the end user to understand why c4 designed the ladder to install in a specific way. I wish it came with paper directions but not a big deal. WATCH THE VIDEO before u install.

4. It sits close to the hatch, I need it compare it with my neighbor's gobi ladder one day.

5. Lots of foam tape is included.

6. emblem is removable, so you can either remove it, paint it, or black it out. I choose to black it out. I might paint it bronze one day.

7. packaging was done extremely well. Every piece was individually wrapped.

8. lots of attachment points.

9, Don't have to upgrade hatch struts, if you aren't loading the ladder up with crap.

cons (nitpicking):

1. Its an erector set, and it sets up like one too, so basically a lot of tightening of bolts, until its solid. If there is play in the ladder, keep tightening....it will eventually get tight. Not sure if it will come loose in the future..i doubt it will.

2. The video/instructions say use a cardboard wedge to install the top mounting bracket. If you don't use it, it will mar the paint at the top hatch area b/c there isn't a lot of clearance and once the sticky tape sets, it isn't coming off.

3. video/instructions doesn't mention using a straight edge w/ a leveler (bubbler). It will make your install A WHOLE LOT EASIER than trying to eye ball it. C4 says measure the top at 3 inches at top and 10.5 inches at bottom, which I did, then used a leveler for final adjustment.

4. Powdercoating is kind of thin. I have some area's where it bubbled along the ladder frame on the inside edge of the bend towards the hatch. It looks like bad prep, but you can't see it once installed; its not on a high wear area, and its on the aluminum portion (so no rust issues). I don't care enough to bother C4 about it, but it's something i noticed while inspecting the parts prior to installation

5. It partially blocks the left side of your rear view camera due to the thick rectangular ladder frame vs. round tube. It's not too bad, it's just a little more obtrusive than a gobi.

6. Wish the bolts were black'd out, not a big deal. Rattle can solved that problem.


Installation easy: 1 (being a sticker) to 10 (being a engine swap), I'd rate this a 2.

Installation time: 30 minutes screwing it all together, and 30 minutes to install on truck. Took me longer b/c I rattle can all the fasteners.

Overall: I like it.

installed mine last night. was very easy and straightforward.
the ladder came in many pieces... all individually wrapped in a great box. held together well.
while there was no instructions, a quick google of c4 ladder installation pointed me right to an online PDF and the actual liftgate attachment install video
While light and thin, it holds my weight extremely well and i have no qualms about hanging all over this thing. (i weigh 230)
I can easily climb onto the roof rack and this will be very nice.
i didn't wait a super long time for this.. i believe that I ordered beginning of Sep and It arrived a couple days ago so about 2 months but totally worth it.
It looks just right. especially with the prinsu rack on top!
