Cabin air filter?

Guys,
I took this video last week when the AC was kicking. The noise was pretty bad. See if you can hear it:

So, this weekend I changed the cabin air filter. Yes, it was nasty. Very much clogged. I thought this would fix my issue, but now I'm getting a kind of whirring noise from the same location (behind the glove box). I haven't heard *this* noise from the video again, just the whirring. Sorry, but don't have any audio/video yet.

What else could be wrong back there?

More than likely it's the HVAC fan which must be plenty dirty, thus making the noise. Or.. the unit is so dirty it may need a little lubrication(That's what she said) to get it to quiet down due to dirt/dust/debris.

Okay, removed the blower motor and there was nothing in the fan. I didn't take apart the motor of the fan though. Put everything back and it hasn't made the loud roaring sound again, but it will make a squealing noise for a few secs and then cut off.

I'm wondering if I should just replace the blower motor? Looks like they're about $50 on ebay. Do you guys have any advice?

I have a 2005 that was doing somewhat the same thing. Noise would go in and out. I just replaced the blow motor and it worked perfect. Good luck

Typical behavior of the blower bearings beginning to fail, I wouldn't rush to replace it but would have oneon hand.

The bearing is going bad, could be from old age... could be from over spinning? When the filter is that clogged it restricts the air flow enough to cause a mild vacuum in the HVAC motor box, sometimes the fan can spin too fast in such conditions.
