Cabin Filter Replaced

So again, I got bored today and figured I would change out the cabin filter. Instead of paying over 20 bucks for a new one, I took a new filter for my house heater and made me one. So for a low .50 I now have replaced my cabin filter. It's been about 6 months since it was done last. I am now at 91,000 miles on the 04.

hey, it's because of the list that I cheaped out on the filter. i have been blasting the a/c for the last 2 days and nothing has gotten past it yet.

I do the same thing. By the pics, it looks like the filter is in upside down, with respect to air flow.

back when we used to charge for c.a.f. replacement, it really was a bit of a bad feeling to be putting the thing in for the amount of money they got charged.

They do work well, the furnace filter probably doesn't flow quite as well, but neither do most of the aftermarket ones.


I wish my 88 had a cabin filter on those long hauls up dirt roads behind other rigs

I've been meaning to do this too.

Instead of $20 for an OEM Cabin Filter...you can get (4) for $20 from making it yourself w/ a 3M Furnace Filter.

I checked behind my glove box in my 2001 SR5 and there's only a pipe going to the right vent. Do I even have a cabin filter?

cabin filters didnt start until the 4th gen. on the filter itself, alot have done what 810moto has for a few years with good results. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/maintenance/29963-cabin-air-filter-2.html

I cut my extra K&N filter. At least i don't have to buy anything for awhile since it's washable and reusable.
