I just ordered a 63 series K&N CAI for my 4.0 V6 2004 4runner. My question, is after the install, will I have to reflash my EFI or anything? Thanks, Merry Christmas all!
Why would you want an aftermarket CAI? The stock intake in your truck is already a TRUE cold air intake and is way more effective than a non-sealed CAI (like the k&n).

My stock airbox is slightly damaged as is. Even with the Non-sealed CAI, It's not too hard of a job to fab up another aluminum heat shield to set on top.
yes we know, you have a broken bolt. I'm surprised your truck even runs. But hey. It's your money. Merry Christmas. And no, you will not need to flash the fuel injection system. Not sure how you thought of that.
Oh well. I'm not regretting the K&N. At least not yet.should have gotten the AFE stage 2.

Just wait, you will.
It was just a thought, seeing as cold air is denser than warm, and I know on the supercharger install, it's required to reflash, because the engine's not yet ready to handle boost, or DENSER air.

Unfortunately these guys speak the truth, CAI are a waste of money on the 4th gen at least. I bought a Volant last year at this time and its been sitting in the garage the last six months. The Volant is a true CAI since its airbox is sealed but it was the dash vibration at 3000-4000rpm that pissed me off. If your getting it to make the engine louder than get an exhaust system, if your getting it for more power than you've been mislead because any power gain is negligible and/or unnoticeable.
I don't judge you for buying one tho because I didn't listen to the forum either but it's not a big deal because these things sell like hotcakes in the classified section.
