Cai+tbs

Hello everyone, I am still new to this forum but I thought this would be a good place to ask some questions. So you see, I drive an '06 4WD V8 Sport edition and I have already installed a K&N CAI kit along with other upgrades that are irrelevant to this post and was wondering if there would be any problems installing a throttle body or throttle body spacer and if it would really do much. (The TRD supercharger actually loses performance from a CAI on the 5.7l Tundra)


The "Street and Performance Electronics" throttle body spacer is what I'm thinking of getting.

tbs are made to work with stock intake, they won't fit the k&n

Don't get it. It's a pure scam. You will lose performance. We have fuel injection on our engines. Google it and search the threads. Tons of research disproving that "technology".

berreta I get it but more explaniation is needed to be clear.

Most TBS go after the TB. Not on the CAI side of the TB but understand that the CAI would have to be modified to mount or fit correctly because the TBS would extened the mounting point of the TB outward.

My friend's hyundai Sante Fe wistles and after we installed it we can turn the traction control off and spin forever. I doubt it is fake. :lol:

tried to install a throttle body spacer on top of my K&N CAI on my 2007 V8, and they would not fit together. it makes the intake hit the radiator fan and pushes one of the fluid resi's. wouldn't recommend it. do your research

Both the CAI & the TBS are pointless to do. The intake that comes stock on the 4Runner is already a "CAI" but doesn't look cool. The K&N only pulls hot air from the engine bay, looks "cooler" and makes your wallet lighter.....with zero performance increases.

Thats incorrect. While the oem is good at being quite there is MUCH room for improvement, on the 1GR. If the intake is well designed like the AFE stage 2 or 1st gen TRD then it will make power. If you get one like the k&n then you'll have to reach a curtain point, both in vehicle speed and engine speed, to finally overcome the heat soaking from the engine. TBS spacers are useless unless they have a port for a extra fuel injector on boosted vehicles or for nos.
