Caliper partially seized will tundras fit my rims?

Well guess I'm getting forced to do this upgrade earlier then planned. My steering rack will have to wait... damn.

NOW before I pull the trigger on the tundra gear it looks easy I know what to order and all ... will they fit my rims I can't seems to find a for sure yes or no. I've got 16 3 spoke split stockers. I don't really want to replace a caliper and not beef up so I want to just do the full upgrade if i can....

199mm s13we fit perfect behind my limited 5 spoke 16" rims...

In a word, No.

You can make them fit through either:
A. Grinding a bit off of the wheel.
B. Grinding a bit off of the caliper.

If I were in your shoes I would be grinding the caliper down to fit...

I don't mind the idea of grinding a bit off the caliper .... how much is a bit? How thin then is the wall I've ground? I don't have to worry about failure??

I would try to find 5 stars or tundra 17" instead of grinding anything at all. Grinding the calipers voids any warranty you have from the reman, and i wouldnt grinding the wheel (some people have done this and say its no problem though.)

Solid opinion, Blizz, and I agree. However, judging by the statement of doing this, not that - in regards to his steering rack - I was thinking perhaps funds were an issue.

If they're not, and you have some down time, find some 5-Stars on craigslist, or if you like them, the TRD Tacoma/Tundra "twist" wheels, sell your wheels for close to what you buy the new ones for (or more if you get the twists) and get some new Tundra calipers!

Well you are right money is not too tight or I'd just replace the caliper but it isn't so great that I was thinking of rim shopping lol. Getting the 17's might be a bad idea as my 285's are barely broken in and I bought them brand new for my 16 inch rims. I don't love spacers though I don't know much about them. I don't really know too much about em pro or con. If I could find some 16 tundra wheels quickly I'd do that no problem to clear my calipers though if not I'm not scared to grind

They have the twist 16" tundra wheels on ebay for 300.. so hopefully you can find them locally for near there and maybe sell your old ones to recover some of the costs.. Which tires did you end up getting in 285? With spacers and 285s im thinking you might rub?

I've got the bft at's on right now. I've got just a 2" BL right now so I bet I'd rub with spacers. I've got a 1.5-2.5 leveling kit I found usedlocal for next to nothing I'm gonna install and run for maybe 6-12 months so I can afford a real lift kit. Piece by piece.

So are there any pics of the ground rims or the ground calipers out there I've sourced all the parts now but it isn't going to be cheap but with my 33's I really need the stopping power anyway! I'd just like to see how much I really need to grind?

Success! Just needed 1/4 wheel spacer that'll hold me till I find some tundra rims
