Calipers grinding wheel

I recently bought some 16" wheels to replace my 17's. I have the larger sport edition calipers. When i tried installing them originally they were scraping to the point that the wheel would not turn when lug nuts were tightened. I was told that wheel spacers would remedy the issue, so i bought some 1.25" spacers. After installing no dice, they still rubbed to the point that I could not rotate the wheel. Is grinding the caliper down the only fix? I am not going to replace the calipers for smaller ones. Thanks for any help. I was excited to get these things on and it has been one thing after another.

16s are never going to fit, even many 17s are close. You're going to have to get new 17"+ wheels.

Unfortunately your not going to find many (if any) 16" wheels to clear the larger brakes. You can try the smaller brakes or bigger wheels.
