Calling all stockers'...or would that be the non-'builds'?

As many mentioned before, I got my T4R 1st because it is a T.....I have owned 3 Tacomas and 1 late 90's Prevea van in the past, so I have a strong history with the brand. In any cases, I bought them for daily transportation, not so much for the 'extreme' things that they could do. For those that have the desire to spend the money to play like that, Hey go for it. I bought mine as an ivestment.
My '06 SE may see some campgrounds in the near future, but will mostly see asphalt.....the only things I plan to do anytime soon (short of normal needed maintenance) is window vent/shades and new Coopers tires once the BFG's on it are ready to say bye-bye. I may attempt to do some things myself, like change out the dimming bulbs on the climate control display, but the best thing I know about my vehicles is to let someone that knows what they are doing to handle it....lol.

I ain't saying that you have to flog your 4Runner on the rocks every weekend to be legit or anything like that, but the way some of you talk you'd think you lived in Mogadishu. Pretending that you need a 4Runner because OMG A POTHOLE AND SOME SNOW!!!!11!!!eleventy! is fawking precious and makes you look like a ninny, because that single mom living down the street gets around just fine in her FWD minivan. Nut up and admit that you bought the 4Runner for the image.

While this may seem true at times, I know we use ours with an eye on ski season. You don't see a lot of FWD minivans in the parking lots where I ski, with good reason. Maybe they can make it much of the time, but that's not a good bet on icy mountain roads in the dark, and I feel a lot more confident having the capability of these vehicles (yes, have had to get around obstacles in 4L, albeit rarely) should strange weather or bad luck occur. It's really management of risk, not 'rock-stomping power'. I also second 1engineer's early post about reliability and manufactured vehicles; there are a lot of unintended consequences when one changes a part of a complex system, my two cents' worth (or less).

I have learned much here about how to cheaply/efficiently improve the stereo speakers, lubricants (what's available and from whom) and even got a Toyota cold air box from what I saw here (now get almost 20mpg, every tank). One of the great things is the folks here try things and share what they learned and what worked for them; so I am much further up the learning curve when I try to do something. So, to those who experiment and share - thanks so much! And aftermarket dealers owe you a LOT.

Only thing I've done is add a Curt 31367 front hitch receiver to accommodate my cooler rack. There is a thread on the hitch. With regard to floor mats, I did find one for the 3rd row. I put a thread here with it.

I have no plans to mod my wife's T4R since it will not be used for off road ride or trip. If I were a little more serious about off roading then I would have bought TRD Pro instead of lower end SR5. With this said, I do enjoy looking at mods by the forum members because I get to see their creative, imaginative and beautiful ideas. I enjoy performing maintenance work on my cars but suspension work is not one of them. It takes a lot more tools and mechanical intelligence. I enjoy watching their work on youtube or posts here.

what size tire is this?

they are stock size...265/70R17...nothing special or oversized...they just look and feel the part. stiff sidewalls, still havnt gotten them dirty yet, but i love the ride and feel.

before mounting them, i even had the desire to buy some used 'Trail' rims to replace the SR5'ers...but these tires even make them look more interesting...if tread life is good over time, i will surely be buying a new set.

I'm mainly stock. Made a few small mods with led interior lights, led lows, drl and fogs and added tint. Probably stay this way and enjoy my 4runner. I used to have a Lexus is300 and Scion xB. Those I modified a lot but seriously all for looks and sadly no resale increase value.

I'm mostly stock. I'd like to add a Gobi rack for the Kayaks and a SSO slimline bumper w/ winch for going to Colorado , but that's about it. That seems stock to me.
