Alrighty, here's what I've found for the Camry so far:

Unfortunately the diagrams provided are not as concise as the ones for the 4Runner, and I've yet to find any resistance specs for the Camry's fuel sender. But you could just test it with a DVOM and compare them to the 4Runner.

yep, 851's with a slight "twist" to the factory link setup
and im looking to avoid this happening again

I follow your mods on FB from time to time. How did you manage to cave your tank in like that without bending your shaft,too? LOL! I'm told by one of the CO4LO guys that an Isuzu tank fits between the trailer hitch. Supposedly you only lose 1 gallon of capacity.
That is a very interesting link setup you've got there. What is your driveline angle like when you are sitting level?
I've been kicking around getting rid of my new OME front lift and going solid axle on the front. That may have to wait, as I am seriously thinking about buying another 2nd gen 4Runner for the freshly rebuilt engine in it. For $650 it is hard to walk away from it.

long day, short story. i got the tank in with a few minor modifications using my favorite 5lb tool. just need to drop the stock tank and hook up the lines. pics tomorrow.

wow...that fits nicely! now just run some steel plate under there, bolt it right into where the hitch bolts into and protect that thing!

OP, I fear I misunderstood your question. I thought you were examining a second tank. My apologies.
If you are running a 3" BL, then why not modify the gas tank mounting brackets to hold the tank up closer to the body?
If you did this, you could easily fit a bolt on, crude skid plate from framerail to framerail below the tank, and never lose one again. There is plenty of room up there, why not use it?
If you put a Camry tank in there, you would still have to protect it (plastic or not), and the brackets will be all wrong. The added fuel capacity is a big bonus, however.
Camry tanks are bigger than 4runner ones??

got it finished up today. had to fix a couple leaks in my lines, but other than that everything seems to be working ok. all it cost me was a 50 in a 35 and a c&r on my way back from getting some butt connectors for the wiring :lookout:

Take your grease fitting out, then replace it with a plug that has a allen wrench head that counter sinks into the yoke. works great i got it at ace hardware idk who else would carry it tho.
and then i used my big hammer to bend the skid back in where it got pulled out haha i just did it again today, i have been catching a driveline weight. ugh. good luck

Nice tip. I'm just looking to relocate my tank as well. I get tired of people looking at me funny when I flex. I guess you have to be familiar with our lifts to know what is going on with that horrible noise LOL! It sounds like Sh*t. Add an extra tall rear setup like I have and it gets worse.

No. 50 liter vs. 70 liter.
Personally, I would consider this only for a aux tank option, and 4Runners' range already suck.
Glad to see it worked out. It is a nice fit indeed.
That stock tank is the most mangled one I have ever seen. I can see why you would want to go woth a different option.
Is there any clearance above the tank?
Is it safe to remove the rear crossmember on the frame?

I am running the OME 851 rear coils. These are a 2 inch lift for the LC + extended length LC coils. Total rear lift is around 6". No limiting straps, factory bump stops.
As far as the question about removing the rear crossmember, I wouldn't recommend it. Less cross bracing= more frame twist. With my lift my springs touch the rear of my gas tank at full flex..No room for moving the tank rearward.

Good God, man! That rear flex is insane! :wow:
Why haven't you guys gone with a SAS? Waggy axles aren't THAT expensive, and you could move the rear axle forward in the process.
Don't get me wrong... the rear flex is really cool, but with so little front flex, what's the point?
Perhaps I'm missing something. I usually stick to the easier trails, so maybe I'm just not in the know!
