Can I buy JUST a flowmaster muffler?

Hi, I'm new here and I'm going to start buying parts for my 4runner.
I'm 17 and trying to be mechanically intelligent but I don't know anybody who can teach me, so here I am. My question is this: can I buy only a flowmaster super 44 muffler (or something similar) and have it installed with my factory exhaust system? In other words, can I just swap the original muffler for a flowmaster without buying any other parts? If yes, my follow up question would be what kind of muffler? They have dual outs and center outs etc.

I sincerely apologize if I broke any rules or codes, I'm sure that's annoying for people who frequently use this forum.

and im dont remember but i think mine was 2-1/2" inlet center and right output
but am unsure

You can replace your stock muffler with JUST the flowmaster super 44 if you want. I went with that one on my last 4runner. No need for one with dual out or inlets.

Yes you can swap out the muffler assuming you can weld or at least know someone who does. I put in a delta 50 series flowmaster, 2.5" tubing with center in and offset outlet.

Yep thats why I love it. Had a magnaflow and it droned so bad, couldnt take it on the freeway so I switched to the 50. Couldnt be happier

I paid $160 to have a muffler installed at Midas on my old 4Runner. Seemed a little high, but this area is a little more expensive. Fortunately I got the muffler for free on another deal so it didn't bother me too much.

What I am saying is it may be cheaper or close to the same price to go with a Gibson cat-back for around $300 (give or take $50 if you go stainless) if you install it yourself. It all depends on how much your local shop charges you, but after muffler, install, taxes, etc it could be comparable.

I just went down to the local Muffler shop and had a Magnaflow installed to replace the OEM muffler. They charged $182 out the door.

That's what I'm running on my V8. Flowmaster 50.

Paid $90 to have it installeed at a muffler shop.

Sounds great - at idle you wouldn't know it - but at startup and under acceleration you can tell!
