Can I use LX450 coils?

I have a connection on some cheap LX450 coils. Are they equal to the LC coils? I checked the lift info page and it just tells me that the colors are LX450 coils, but doesn't go into detail about how effective they are for the 4runner.

Anyone know? I got to find out asap so I can buy them.

Yea they will give you the exact same ride as the LC's. I run them. It feels cooler to be able to say you are running coils out of a Lexus.

I currently run LX450 coils. They are 8.25 or 8.75 wraps and give me about 5-6" of lift. They are very similar to the LC coils as far as flexy and soft. If you plan to put heavy loads in the back of your 4runner or tow a boat you will not be happy with them. I go camping with a full load plus a 16ft boat and outboard and my rear end sagged and its pretty awful with the back end being pulled side to side from the boat. That being said if you are not towing and carrying full loads than they are awesome.

New ones. Tundra 5100's would work well. So would stock LC.

You can run the stock shocks but I wouldn't recommend it. I ran my stock ones for a couple months until I was able to buy a new pair. I'm a fan of the bilstein 5100's and 5125's. Curently I'm running Rancho RS5000's and I'm unhappy with them. In the near future I'll be switching to 5125's. Just get shocks for an FJ80 LC and it will be fine.

I'd look at getting the Billstein 5150's. Toytec stocks them at the right length. They are by the far the best shocks I have ever had, the valving is perfect!

And they deliver loads of travel

Just an FYI the stock LX450 springs/shocks are softer than the stock LC springs/shocks. It is one of the only differences between the 2 vehicles, the Lexus had a "softer" ride from the factory.

false.. teh coils are have the same spring rate and are identical. the SOFTER ride comes from different shocks alone.

btw im running 450 springs and they ride great and dropped about 3/4 inch with 300lbs in the back.

whoops my bad, sorry. I thought it was springs and shocks but I checked and you are right.

I've still got my stock 450 springs if anyone in Eastern Canada is interested.
