can you disable alarm button on fob

The title pretty much says it all. I too often have my keys in my pocket set off the alarm, either change or pocket knife or something hits the button.

I have the proximity remote (push to start) and I would set off the panic button every so often in my pocket.
I opened up the remote, used a flush cutter on the button attached to the circuit board and trimmed it down. The panic button still works, just need to press harder.

Happens to me all the time. I’ve got two key fobs on my ring - one for my T4R and my Subaru Outback. Either or both are out there blaring away at any given moment. I got used to it. Keeps the zombies and anarchists away … :naughty:

Check the Owners Manual, under the section Customization - Customizable Features.

"Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be personalized to suit your preferences. Programming these preferences requires specialized equipment and may be performed by your Toyota dealer."

"Some function settings are changed simultaneously with other functions
being customized. Contact your Toyota dealer for further details."

Among the settings that can be customized (i.e., be turned off) include the panic function (at least for wireless remote control keys, but maybe not for the smart key system).

Yep, did that for the button that rolled down the lift gate window on one I had after coming out one morning in a pouring rain and finding the window down.
