can you install a 7in touch screen in these 4runners?

Wife is looking at a 2013-2015 4runner and is wanting to have an after market touch screen installed with apple play. from the outside the dash doesn't look like it will accept a bigger unit like I'm wanting. But i figured i would ask just incase.

If you go to Crutchfield and enter the vehicle information, it will tell you what models are compatible.

That said, you will need to get the trim piece that replaces the factory one.

Since I know that standard Double-DIN radios will fit, I assume that one with a 7" screen will work just fine.

ETA: I've had my truck for all of three days (it's a 2016), and while the stereo is definitely functional and full of some great features, it also has some minor drawbacks that I find pretty annoying.

For example, I don't know what artwork it uses for album art, but it's not the ones I have saved for my tracks. Also, to listen to a podcast, you have to start it on your device rather than through the head unit.

Yeah, I know.... 1st world problems...

Where did you pick up that dash kit? I just did an install in my 2014 T4R and use the Scosche one, which is silver. The paint is very rough, i.e, it's not slick and shiny. You touch it and it loses the shine. You touch it twice and the paint starts to fade. Going to try to wax it to see if that keeps it from getting worse. Love the black look of yours.

It's a Scosche kit. It was smooth though. Maybe the ones for the newer models are textured.
I just used Krylon Fusion for plastic and a Satin clear. I wish I would have used the matte or flat clear (couldn't find it) as the satin is still a little too shiny. I will redo the clear someday. I also painted the lower trim pieces below the stereo. Plan on doing the rest of the silver as it scratches very easily.

One thing I discovered to my dismay is that if you put in an aftermarket radio, the factory camera and XM Radio setups cannot be plugged in; you have to use an aftermarket setup.

Furthermore, the bluetooth controls in the steering wheel (for the phone) won't work, and there is no retrofit kit to fix that.

my installer got all of my A/V fully integrated in my '12.
though, mic was trash, so I never used the built in phone module anyway.

I can answer and hang up the phone from the steering wheels. I can't initiate the call from the steering wheel but that is a lack of function with my receiver. I use that button for mute.

Higher level Pioneers that use voice activation can be setup completely.

I dropped an ipad mini under the passenger seat and can't seem to fish it out...integration complete!

Next I dropped another ipad mini into the engine bay and it is currently stuck above the TRD skidplate....been too lazy to remove the skidplate to get it. Double integration for max points!

It does not retain the microphone, satellite and gps antennae. I paid $150 for it, then crutchfield dropped the price to $95 and they refunded $55 back to me.

No idea. They told me the same thing last year when I asked them. I found this kit on a Tundra forum. Works great for me.
