Alex won the 1st Canadian Olympic Gold on the home soil.

I can't really understand why they would have a sport like this? If running on asphalt is bad for your joints who would have ever thought moguls should be an olympic sport??

That would eliminate a lot of events.

What shouldn't be in the games are the ones that are judged (with possible bias) and not against the clock or a measuring element without bias. My beef with those types of competition are even though there is a scoring criteria and deduction, but how is it determined if a certain move is worth 4.8 vs 5.0, etc.

The problem with eliminating judged competitions is you'd lose alot sports in the winter including figure skating,snowboard half pipe,ski jumping and ariels and some in the summer sports. It's just the nature of those sports since they need to be judged to be competitive but I see things on your side also but you gotta have those sports.

So far USA is dominating the podium (28 medals with Germany close behind at 24) and is a big disappointment to Canada as there was some trash talking coming from the Canadian teams and other prominet Canadiens.

Canada's hope for redemtion on home soil is to win the gold in Hockey which seems to be the most important sport at the Olympics.

:iagree: with eliminating judged sports and the Olympics will probably only last a week or less. It's similar to beauty pageant contests, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it's scored with bias to some degree. But pageants have a whole host of other issues in the criteria, like talents, personality, etc. I thought it was just on beauty. :bash: Oh wells, that's another discussion.

But I have to say, eliminating the judged sports will take away some of my favorite events in the games like half pipe and freestyle skiing. Anything that involve lots of air and flips are exciting to watch. In the end, it is what it is. Good thing I'm not competing in any judged event, otherwise, I'll always think some sort of prejudice was involved.
