Can't find the ground

When I go to start my truck it shorts out last time I went to play with the negative cable to readjust it to get a better ground the horn went off. Where does the ground cable get ran to so I can tighten it down

You should have two grounds coming off of your negative battery terminal. One will go to the body near your fuse panel under the hood. The other will go to your engine, either on your passenger side motor mount or on your ac compressor bracket.
