Rear hatch door ajar switch

I have an issue where my hatch ajar switch is grounding out while driving and even while the vehicle is not moving. Mine is a Limited, so while it's locked there's an alarm and as soon as this switch grounds to complete the circuit the alarm goes off. I've come outside to find the alarm going off three times recently.

Each of the door switches have been unplugged, which made no difference in this happening. They can't go to ground and complete the circuit if they're unplugged.

My issue is I can't find ANY information about where the switch is located for the hatch. I'm assuming that it's probably a part of the latching mechanism, but I can't find anything to confirm that assumption.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Not sure I am barking up the right tree, have a look at the catch loop mounted to the sill. It might be corroded or pitted which could interrupt electrical contact. Burnish with sandpaper.

The hatch latch that gets corroded has multiple switches built into it. My guess would be in there as it gets lots of salty moisture in the area. You can get the whole latch for cheap on Amazon now.
