I went wheeling in my H3 quite often. I did minimal rock gardens, but it did great in sand, mud, and dirt. I didn't have front or rear lockers, just the standard AWD it comes with. I put 35's on it without needing a lift or anything. It also had custom built sliders and a steel front bumper w/winch. I can only think of 2 times my truck needed to be helped out of a spot and both were because I didn't have lockers. My buddy that would go wheeling with me moved, so I haven't taken my 4R out yet and have no comparison between the two.

Nice yeah his has a 4 inch lift I believe(as there was only one company that made it for these vehicles) and was on 35's. His was also the Alpha so the bigger engine and I believe a 5 speed auto. Really is a cool vehicle, and I always thought it was just a glorified chevy. Cool to see them wheeled though. Before my 4runner I almost puled the trigger on a 5 speed manual H3T.

I wanted the Alpha, but it was 4-5k more for the V8 and I couldn't afford that much at the time. They are definitely fun to drive and the turning radius is insane. Had a lot of fun in that truck and I miss it sometimes, but I like the 4runner just as much.

Davenport. MIOBI was actually the first place I took my H3 wheeling. I was with a group of Toyota's. lol

Gotcha. Yeah that's where I went locally besides some private land, and I can tell you that there were some severe pucker moments. I turned around and gave up before the 4runner did. What it tackled was pretty impressive keeping up with all the Truggies. next time you come down let me know!

I was blessed.
Can you believe my boss actually helped me get that Scout? Co-signed the loan and everything. He was a really good guy.
