it would be a nice idea if toyota would include a screwdriver or a small wrench to tighten up the jack handle, or am i missing something

Now I see what was being referred to. And I agree. Years back I remember getting a very limited but useful toolkit with my Toyota trucks. They should include those now also. But I've already made my own and put it in. Just a few tools, screwdriver with a few different bits, adjustable wrench, and pliers. Oh, and duct tape and some wire ties also.

It's been a while since I've looked at my jack, but aren't those thumbscrews actually square-shaped with a phillips-head slot in them? I believe I was able to place a hollow-ended section of the jack handle over the square-shaped thumbscrew and use it to tighten the handle.
I may be wrong about this because I can't remember exactly what I did, but I am pretty sure that the one section of the handle can be used to tighten other sections by using the hollow end sort of like a wrench. I will have to check it out later and get back to this post unless somebody else knows what I am talking about.
