Cargo Box Storage When Not In Use

I was just wondering what you guys use to store your rooftop cargo boxes when they aren't being used.

I saw where Thule has a system that can be installed on the garage ceiling. Does anybody use that? Or custom built something similar??

Right now, mine just sits on the floor, but it tends to get in the way.

4 bike hooks. 2 small chains. hang it upside down on the ceiling. thats what I do. Much cheaper than the thule storage system I imagine

Definitely would be much cheaper...I started thinking about this today, and once I saw the thule storage system I started over engineering it in my brain.:lmao:

Cargo Box

I noticed that you have a cargo box. What kind of roof rack and cargo box do you have? I have a factory roof rack and crossbars. Is it ok if I exceed the 120 lb weight limit? How much weight have you put on you rack/roof?

Definitely would be much cheaper...I started thinking about this today, and once I saw the thule storage system I started over engineering it in my brain.:lmao:

I hang my Thule box under the upper stairs heading into the basement: 2 big hooks, 1 bungee hooked through the lower bar hooks, a spare synch strap hooked to the upper ones ... that way you can make the synch strap as long as you want to catch it on the hook, and then lift the whole box up by shortening the strap, and then it's easy to hook the bungee over the lower hook because you're not holding up the box at the same time.
