Cargo carrier / bike rack

Looking for nice fairly inexpensive trailer hitch carrier. What’s in vogue?

I tow a small boat so often pack that with cooler etc. but I’m looking for a rack to use for gear when not towing. I have the kids bikes so do t think I really need an actually bike rack vs a cargo rack.

Something like this with a fork mount attached to it would give you some versatility. Steel cargo carriers are heavy.

Forgot to mention...can you open the tailgate too? We put the dog in the back just wondering if I’d have to unpack to get him in. Suppose I could dump him they the window /
