Cargo Cover question

Just recently installed the 96-00 version of the cargo cover in my trunk. The question I have is, how do I keep the cover in place while driving? If the cargo cover is extended while driving, almost any bump will cause it to retract back. Should I only worry about using it when I'm parked? I feel like if the channel was longer where it locks in place it would handle bumps better and stay in place while driving.

Thanks for any input.

My oem one doesn't do that with the absolute roughest of bumps when offroading.

On the other hand, every once in a while if i slam the trunk too hard (cuz sometimes it shows door ajar if i don't) it does what you mentioned, i just put it back on and close again.

I'm thinking there is some minor mis-alignment in your setup to cause that. See if there is any adjustment you can make to turn the back end lip upwards just a bit more? Luck and enjoy. :cowboy:

Should not happen unless the centre of the handle area is flexing? It should not bend or be bent. Is it under reasonable tension or loose?

Not sure what the problem was, but after I tinkered with it a little bit Friday I haven't had it roll back up on me while driving. My belief is the guy I bought it from hadn't used it in awhile causing it to be tight(taut?). Continuously rolling it out and pushing it further into the slot to hold it extended must have done the trick. I've driven through some roads since then and no problems.
