Cargo Headliner Light

I previously owned a 2002 4R and really liked the cargo area light mounted to the headliner because I could access the cargo area through the window and still be able to turn on the light if needed.

I'm a bit frustrated with the lights located on the tailgate in the 5th Gen because I use the window opening often to put stuff in and I shouldn't have to open the tailgate just for lights.

I've seen the LED strips that other people on this site have installed but I would prefer something with a factory look. So I'm thinking about buying an OEM headliner light and installing it in the cargo area.

Has anyone installed a headliner light in their cargo area?

You can reach down and turn on the tailgate lights with the switch they have.

Yeah yeah- reaching down and searching for the little nub reminds me of reaching down my pants, a pretty disheartening reminder that something is missing.

well if you have to reach down and find out your missing something, I think you have bigger problems not noticing something important is missing.

anyway, couldn't you just hit the unlock buttons and the lights come on for default 30 secs.

you could reprogram the fade out to longer I think to 60secs.
