Carolina Beach/Fort Fisher

Hey everyone.
I have a weird question. I live in Durham but love to go to Fort Fisher because you can get a day pass to just drive up on the beach, unload and have everything close by, without having to drag everything from the parking lot. I used to have a regular cab tacoma with some BFG's and never had any trouble on the sand. I do recall seeing a lot of people getting stuck. I just figured it was due to the taco being so light and also the A/T tires. I had to give that up and now I have a 97 4WD Limited T4R. I don't have any A/T tires yet and probably have about half the tread life left on the current tires. My question is, will i get stuck if I try to go on the beach? I figured I might, due to not having A/T tires. Anyone had any first hand experience on standard tires at Carolina Beach/Fort Fisher?

Air down to 15 lbs. I recently linked to a Viair compressor that hooks to the truck battery for $68 from Amazon. It works great. I've been to Fort Fisher but never drove on the beach there but driving on sand is the same in the OBX. The old timers used to drive regular cars aired down and baldish tires worked best. If you go post some pictures.

I'm sure you've already been and found out for yourself, but I was just there Saturday and had no issues with a stock height/tire 03 Sport.

In fact, I was testing and found that I could use 2 wheel drive in most all of it. Only thing I couldn't do in 2wd was drive out of the ruts - had to switch to 4 high for that.

And never once needed 4 low. I was VERY impressed.

Now granted, it's February, and I'm sure the sand is not as dry as it will be in the summer, but I don't foresee any issues at all.

Go to Google Images and search the term "freeman park, nc". You'll see a ton of stock tires and heights during the summer pics....

I was planning on taking my new(to me) 05 Sport v8 to Fisher this weekend I am glad I came across this and now am more confident. I have also booked a trip to the norther OBX later this year and cant wait
