Thanks man. Assuming since I’m using GPS from the new HU, that I won’t connect this. There wasnt a spot on the HU to connect it to, at least.

This unit is one of the cleanest setups so far for a large screen that doesn't leave a bunch of dead space. However, I'm concerned. I've done a considerable amount of aftermarket work already to the oem headunit. Did you guys have to do a lot of rewiring. Truthfully, if I had this unit with entune and android auto, I'd be a happy camper. I think some others would agree.

I'm interested to see how this develops.

I assume you found and adjusted the brightness slider? I've never used Android either but I saw in [MENTION=296608]Smerdinian[/MENTION] video he showed a brightness slider.

Hey [MENTION=48772]Jesse1983[/MENTION]. Unfortunately, my brightness slider is maxed out at 100 and it’s still terrible - the pics from earlier are with the unit at 100.

I’m trying to get my hands on the fix that you have to load to the unit.

He's stated a couple of times that there is a file that needs to be loaded to correct the issue with the brightness, so clearly it's a software issue..he mentions in the video to reach out to him directly and he'll provide it..

Wasn’t sure what avenue to reach out to him since I don’t do Facebook. Regardless, I was able to get the file from the manufacturer and got it loaded successfully. We are back in business!

I have the OG backup camera screen in the rear view mirror (2010). How much of a PITA will it be to re route the camera feed to the head unit?

Possible to intercept and splice in a route to the head unit?
 
Does anybody have any pics or video actually running CarPlay curious to see what the interface looks like. And is it possible to hook the CarPlay adapter to the stock USB port and run it like that?

Not yet, I get mine this week hopefully, I’ll do a video. No, you can’t plug CarPlay to existing USB, as it’s made for android and has to be rooted, to trick the unit into CarPlay app. So there is an app that you need to download and then CarPlay will play normally.
