Ass is starting to sag with all the added weight!

More weight will be added so looks like I need new rear springs, or bags.

Still looking good bud! Love those 285/75s. My AT IIs are actually on there way out now (around 55k with a nail in the tread) so i'm looking back into tires again myself.

Btw, how many miles do you have on yours now?

Thanks dude! It's been a while since I've been on here. Started to get bored with the runner, so I decided to make some alterations. And a few more to come.

Oh shit, you and tires/wheels!! The 75's have been awesome! Tons of traction in dirt, rock and snow. I'd recommend them but they are 10 ply all around so they are heavy!

I have 138k right now but will add 3-4k this fall on my SW road trip.

You sound like me! I got really bored with mine to for a year or so and rarely came on here either. However, after a few repairs/forced-updates were done, I started getting back into it again.

My short-term plans are: Finish the 5th gen brake upgrade up front as its partially seized (parts sitting in the garage), finish painting the lower half of the cargo area black (much like the newer 4runner interiors) and possible do the front doors with black carpet, bought a set of used A-pillars for a possible 3-way setup, want Clazzio seat covers.....etc.

And I did go through my fair share of setups but I've already put 53k since 2012 on these bad boys so its time again. I do drive it a lot though as I'm sitting at 183k miles! I'm leaning towards the newer Wildpeak AT/3. Supposedly really quite, great wet weather traction and they look great. You're right though, the 285/75s may be too much for my V6.

Replaced superflex with icon overland coils. No more rear sag, at least till I get my 4x4 labs bumper.

I'd say I still maintained 3" lift in the rear with them springs and 4x4lab bumper on mine.
With you having them draws, will tone them down, and throwing your bikes on the rear, will make them feel like riding more of a Caddy.

Question, rear 2.0" or 2.5" ICON resi's with all the added weight plus the 4x4labs rear bumper coming? Please give me your thoughts.

Maybe try your 2.0's for a while then see if you want to upgrade? It's quite a large jump in cost for the 2.5" w/ Resi. Although with your rear bumper, bike rack, and cargo drawers you could probably benefit from the 2.5" shock.

The cost is the biggest factor. I asked ICON and they said 2.5's. I wish they made them in a non RR. I jumped the gun and bought 2.0RR's. I have a 3 week road trip coming up and can't get my 2.0's rebuilt in time. Oh well, this trip will give me a reason to keep the 2.0's or upgrade to 2.5's.

Radflo 2.5s come nonresi and are the same price as the Metal tech 2.0s

Considering the shocks don't support the weight of the vehicle and only dampen the speed in which the suspension travels you'll likely never notice a difference between 2.0 and 2.5's The bigger question is what coil springs are you running as that is whats going to determine how well your ride will support the additional weight.

Remote reservoir's purpose is to reduce air build up in the oil of the shocks during heavy cycling such as higher speeds running over washboard roads. Their only other purpose is looks.

Performance differences between 2.0 and 2.5's would be; 2.5's will have greater dampening resistance. So 2.0's cycle faster than 2.5's. your pushing a larger washer/seal surface area through a larger volume of fluid in the 2.5. Both would have the ability to be valve properly to match your spring rate. 2.0's would begin to run hotter durring heavy cycling as the lesser volume of fluid would heat up faster.

hope this helps and have a great trip!
