So, in anticipation of my Demello bumper being delivered I also bought a winch, a 1.25 inch body lift, a 1/2 inch top plate for the front driver side lean problem, and a new top shock bushing to correct the awful rattle I have on the same corner. Then I bought all the trim pieces, antenna adapter, harness adapter and all that to finally change out my head unit and put my sub in. I also need to take apart the sunroof (again) because its rattling ... again . While the truck is in peices I may also attempt the black headlight mod , why not right ? And after the body lift I will continue mt search for the perfect set of sliders, I have a hard time making choices and im picky.
I also have to re locate my winch solenoid and remote plug from the winch, since it wont fit in the bumper without doing so, and it came with a p.o.s. solenoid box that was not sealed and was broken when I opened the box so a new enclosure is in order.
I decided that mocking up everything with the un finished bumper is key since Im changing the body height and want the bumper to sit right, so if I need to modify the bumper in any way I wont be cutting, drilling the brand new powdercoat. That means everything will prob be mounted,a total of 3 times, once for height check and to make any mounting holes larger as needed , again to check winch clearance and mounting hole adjustments after I remote mount the solenoid box and then again after powdercoating.
Im also going to shorten or move the washer bottle (if I have time) so it doesnt show as much and clean, rust convert and paint the newley exposed front suspension and frame, and prob fab some new inner fender liners if possible. This is going to take me all freakin summer if im not carefull !
This might not sound like much for you guys, but I don't have help and I don't get much time int he shop between biz and kids so Im looking at probably having the truck apart on and off for two months considering Ill be doing the work here and there (hour early to the shop, hour late coming home, half day on sat or sun) My wife is going to be *****ing the whole time.
Ill be taking pics because I havent documented the lift , rack or skid installs very well and I might make a build thread. Plus it should be helpfull if anyone does the same mods down the road. Its a lot of stuff or at least it seems so right now since I cant even make up my mind on bumper finishes but at least Ive got a sweet heated shop(mancave) with garage and office, and the beer flows freely !(pus its 4 miles away from the house, and I cant hear HER from there.)
