CB antenna for AM/FM with one of these?

I would like to ditch the OE power antenna and use my rear mounted CB antenna for both CB and AM/FM radio. Just wondering if anyone has done this or can think of any issues with doing this with a splitter like this one. Seems like an easy enough solution if it will work. Thanks.

Reviews are good, I thought simultaneous use might cause interference, but it seems not. Let us know how it does! I wanted to go up to GV this weekend, my friends are there, but I don't see it happening, have fun.

Just ordered one - I'll update when I get it installed. Went for a great forest drive last night to test the new Rigid Dually LED's mounted to the CBI Ditch mounts and worked great.

Just finished installing it and seems to work like a charm so far - both CB & AM/FM seem to be coming in loud and clear. The power antenna was fairly easy to get to as well so finished both the install and disconnect in about 30 min - I was expecting a few curveballs so very glad it was a snap!

Can't wait for my CB antenna mounts now. I ordered one for my 02 since the stock antenna is inoperable and since I don't think my wife will use the CB, she can get use out of her new CB antenna and mount with her FM stations.

Sorry, not much to see -.probably should have snapped a pic with the stereo out. I was really surprised how easy the whole center center dash assembly pops off then it's just the 4 stereo screws to get to the antenna and swap connections.

Nothing is visible from inside the cab without getting down to the foot wells and looking behind the console. The multiswitch box is a little bigger than I expected but tucks behind (then below) the back stereo with enough room to put everything back without smashing anything.

Any thoughts on installing a cb antenna in the stock antenna's location? I like the idea of a stealth install which disguises the fact that I have a cb in the truck, discouraging theft.

i bought this thinking it was as easy as plug n' play, but am running into problems. don't know which plug in the head unit is for which antenna, but if I unplug the smaller one I am getting this loud noise even with the radio off. And then the cb has no reception with this thing plugged in. any advice?

Not quite sure I understand because there is only one antenna at this point (CB).
You put the new wire labled AM/FM into the plug in the head unit where the old stock antenna was plugged in and other end to the new box then attach the CB antenna to the box. Maybe try stopping at this point (before attaching CB) and make sure you have AM/FM, if so attach the CB.

I know I had to have a radio buddy of mine tune the antenna for CB but it shouldn't affect the am/fm (??). I'm up in the mountains with fair (at best) radio reception and get just as good am/fm as I do with the Subaru and the CB works great (at least the way I've ever used it).

there are 2 antenna plugs, front and rear antenna, i now know the smaller plug is for the rear antenna; left that one alone. i don't know what was going on, but i got the am/fm radio to work;

cb still not working as it should. i get power to it, but i have to turn the volume to max just to hear low static. never was like that before....maybe my cb is broke or something.

What model CB do you have? Could the settings be out of whack for controlling the static and gain be out of adjustment?

uniden pro520; played around with all the adjustments....only thing that was odd while installing, i noticed the male end coax the splitter comes with is skinnier than my original coax cable (male end); this could make for a bad connection?

It takes more than the tip to get the job done. :dance: As long as the plug fits and is tight you should be good.
