Anybody know anything (good/bad) about this new cb antenna mount from toytec? I am thinking about getting a setup like this for my newly aquired cb.

That's almost identical to the one I have that was made by Outdoor Logic. I've had mine on for about two years...I love it. I ran my cable through the Runner under the carpet. When I got to the cargo area I found a rubber plug. I made a small hole in the plug and ran the cable through it. Used some sealant to seal up the hole. Now the cable was right there for the mount. I bought a 90* connector from "right channel radios" for like $4 to attach the cable to the mount. I then added a medium duty spring so my fiberglass antenna wouldn't snap if it gets caught on a tree limb...or some kid in the parking lot messing with it!! Mine mounts on the driver's side so when I install my bumper w/ a swing-a-way tire...the antenna mount won't be in the way.
IMHO it works and looks good! Now because the antenna sits so low...you won't get a long range. I just use my CB for trail rides and everybody is with-in a mile or two...which works perfect for me!!

Thanks for your thoughts. I have looked at the ODL mounts and the ones similar. I really like the look and location. I was just unsure about this newest one out there. But my use would be along similar lines as yours/ Trail riding and being in touch. Not trying to talk long distances. The spring is a nice touch along with the 90 degree adapter. I will def have to use those ideas. Thanks again.

Seems like a lot of money for that mount. Of course I'd probably build my own and spend just as much or more. Just sayin'

Agree, I bought my cobra cb radio for 37. This mount is 49 + 15 shipping..
. :nono: There should be some better alternative...
